Baby rescued from fourth floor of city centre property by firefighters

Firefighters rescued a baby from the fourth floor of a locked city centre property this morning (Thursday).

Avon Fire and Rescue Service was called after a one-year-old became trapped in a building on Marsh Street.

Crews managed to reach the youngster by using small tools and a long ladder.

A fire spokesperson said: "At 9:40am, two crews from Temple fire station were mobilised to a one year old locked in a property on Marsh Street.

"On arrival, crews forced entry to the property using small gear.

"The incident was then handed over to the responsible person."

A spokesperson for Temple Fire Station tweeted: " Ladder pitched to the 4th floor of this city centre property this morning to gain access."
