Baby parrots stolen from house in Middleton

Three baby parrots were stolen during a burglary in Middleton.

The four-week-old Green Neck Parrots were snatched during a break-in the early hours of Sunday morning, and may die if they are not found.

Police have launched an investigation into their disappearance.

The chicks were being hand reared by their owner after being rejected by their mother.

Police say the tiny birds require hand feeding every two hours to stay alive.

Greater Manchester Police have shared a picture of the chicks and are appealing for anyone with information to contact the force.

Posting on Twitter, GMP Middleton said: "We are appealing for information following a burglary which occurred in Middleton in the early hours of Sunday 12th July.

"Unknown offenders have stolen three Green Neck Parrots which are four weeks and have been rejected by their mother so the victim was hand rearing them.

"The parrots which do not have their feathers yet require hand feeding every two hours to stay alive."

Anyone with information should contact police as soon as possible on 0161 8568549 quoting incident 1133 of 12/07/20.
