Baby milk formula that's sold in high street chemists has been urgently recalled over salmonella fears.
Parents have been warned not to feed their babies with the product after manufacturer Abbott issued an urgent recall.
Various batches of Elecare Similac and Alimentum Similac infant formula powder have been voluntarily recalled.
It is feared that a salmonella infection led to the death of a baby in the US.
The UK's Food Standards Agency says Abbott has taken the "precautionary step" of recalling various batches of the infant formula powders because they might contain salmonella.
A statement from Abbott said: "We value the trust parents place in us for high quality and safe nutrition and we’ll do whatever it takes to keep that trust and resolve this situation. At Abbott, our first priority is the health and safety of our customers.
"The voluntary recall only impacts Alimentum and EleCare in the UK. No other Abbott nutrition products – or Similac products – distributed in the UK are affected."
The products are foods used for special medical purposes for infants, usually to be used under medical supervision with a prescription.
Salmonella can cause serious food poisoning, with symptoms including vomiting, diarrhoea, stomach cramps and fevers.
Customers shouldn't use the formula and should return the products to the store or chemist where it was bought for a full refund.
All stores and pharmacies that are supplying these products are being informed of the issue.
