Baby Marcus and the incredible Valentine's Day connection

There will always be something a little bit special about babies born on Valentine’s Day, but the first baby born in Bristol on February 14 is extra special.

Little baby Marcus arrived at St Michael’s Hospital in the early hours of Valentine’s Day, with ‘a real buzz’ in the delivery room.

For not only was Marcus born on Valentine’s Day, but Valentine’s Day is also his dad’s birthday. And their surname is Valentyn.

That means, back home in Weston-super-Mare right now, there is a man called Stu Valentyn - pronounced Valentine - born on Valentine’s Day, who has a newborn son called Marcus Valentyn, also born on Valentine’s Day.

With such a strong Valentine’s Day connection for the family, new mum Steph said they were all thrilled at becoming parents for the first time - and the Valentine connection continued.

She said the staff were all rooting for them.

“Everyone was so excited for us, there was a real buzz in the delivery room for the arrival of the first Valentine’s Day baby!” she said.

“We’d like to say a massive thank you to all the staff for their support throughout,” she added
