Baby Loss Retreat launches new Lanarkshire support group

Coatbridge charity Baby Loss Retreat is launching a new support group for bereaved families.

The first session of the organisation’s baby and child loss support group takes place this Monday, August 10, and will then continue once every three weeks.

It will be held in Bellshill, in premises at the town’s 205B Main Street, with spaces being limited to allow for two-metre physical distancing requirements.

The new support group is the latest venture by the Coatbridge charity, established by Shawhead couple Bryan and Julie Morrison in honour of their late daughter Erin, who was stillborn at 37 weeks.

Baby Loss Retreat supports all those affected by miscarriage, stillbirth and neonatal death, providing one-to-one support and giving bereaved parents the opportunity to go away on tranquil retreats.

Group organisers say: “We can offer support, and will have speakers to help with anxiety and stress.

“Please come along and join us for tea, coffee and biscuits. We will also be taking details, but only for [coronavirus] track and trace.”

Monday’s session takes place from 7pm to 8.30pm, and attendance should be confirmed in advance by emailing babylossretreat@hotmail.com or by calling 01236 600417.
