Baby John Box Office Collection Day 16: Varun Dhawan starrer misses Rs 40 crore mark; earns just Rs 17 lakh

Baby John, starring Varun Dhawan in the titular role, continues its disappointing run at the box office. On its 16th day, the film failed to make it past the Rs 20 lakh mark, recording a new low in its collection.

According to a report on Sacnilk, the film only managed to collect an estimated Rs 17 lakh, taking its total earnings to Rs 39.83 crore net. With this, the film fell short of the Rs 40 crore mark.

Despite Varun Dhawan’s dedicated performance and the initial buzz around the film, Baby John has struggled to make a mark amidst stiff competition from other releases like Pushpa 2: The Rule and Mufasa: The Lion King. The action-thriller’s mixed reviews from both critics and audiences have hampered its ability to draw crowds to theatres.

Released amidst high expectations, the film’s box office journey has been marked by a steady decline in collections after a moderate opening week collection of Rs 36 crore. The film managed to add only an estimated Rs 3 crore to its net collections in its second week.

The film is now facing additional challenges with more competition from newer releases like the big-ticket release of Ram Charan’s Game Changer and the Bollywood film 'Fateh' starring Sonu Sood.

Directed by Kalees, 'Baby John' also stars Keerthy Suresh, Wamiqa Gabbi, Jackie Shroff, and Salman Khan in key roles.
