Baby, it’s cold outside: How cold temps affect NFL games

We’re eight days into December, and freezing-cold temperatures are cutting like a knife in many of the league’s markets.

As the weather gets colder or even snowy, teams playing in outdoor stadiums can be faced with low-scoring affairs that consist of a lot of run plays and solid defensive stops.

It’s cold now and only getting colder. Heaters, heavy jackets and hand warmers help, but not for long.
