Baby becomes fifth generation of girls in family as great-great-gran offers advice

Here come the girls – five generations of them!

Millie Quinn is only a few days old and joins a proud line of “strong-willed” women in a family headed by her great-great-gran Pearl Shaw, 88.

The tot is Chloe Barron’s first child and in addition to her great-gran Pearl, Chloe has been able to call on mum Michelle Barron, 39, and her gran Tina Pierrepont, 57, for support.

Chloe, a 19-year-old car valeter, said: “I’m already prepared for motherhood because of all the advice I’ve been given by my mum, nan and great-nan. My support circle is incredible.

“We are close family and I’m so excited for Millie to be part of that.”

Tina, a shop owner in Barnsley, South Yorks, said: “We all hoped it would be a girl and when we found out we were ecstatic. Chloe definitely isn’t stuck for babysitters now!”

She added: “Girls have always been incredibly strong-willed in our family.

“Me, Chloe and Michelle are peas in a pod – highly opinionated. Having all these strong women in the family will give Millie the best start in life.”

And former factory worker Pearl has a parenting tip: “I never spoiled my kids but they never went without. My advice to Chloe is not to spoil them but give them all your love instead!”
