Georginio Wijnaldum was ecstatic to return to action six months after fracturing his leg on Saturday.
The former Liverpool midfielder was named on the substitutes' bench for Roma's game against Leece in Serie A. The Dutchman was then introduced to the action by Jose Mourinho with just over eight minutes remaining.
Federico Baschirotto gave Lecce the lead after just seven minutes before Paulo Dybala levelled things up from the penalty spot 10 minutes later. The result leaves Mourinho’s side fourth in the Serie A table.

Before the match Wijnaldum shared an image of his shirt in the dressing room with the caption: 'Baby I'm back!', and an action photo of the 32-year-old was also shared onto his account with the same caption.
The Netherlands international only signed for Mourinho's team on loan from Paris Saint-Germain over the summer, but he has spent most of the season on the sidelines after suffering a serious leg injury during a training session back in August.
The Dutchman ended his five-year stay at Anfield back in the summer of 2022 after the expiration of his contract, which he signed in 2016 after arriving from Newcastle United. During his time on Merseyside, Wijnaldum made 237 appearances for the Reds and won four major trophies along the way.
