Baby girl scalded by two pans of boiling water saved by mum's quick thinking

A baby girl who had two pans of boiling water splash her when she was just 13 months old has started pre-school, her delighted parents said.

Aoife suffered burns to her arms, face, neck and feet and had to receive care at the Burns unit in Alder Hey Children's Hospital and Charity.

Her parents quickly put the burned areas under "tepid water" before the ambulance turned up, an early step that was vital in her recovery.

The little girl had to stay in hospital for a month while she received treatment.

Heartbreaking photos showed Aoife in hospital with painful burns, as she had a large bandage on her arm.

But her parents have confirmed she is doing well now.

Aoife’s parents, Jodie and Sue, said: "Aoife had burns on her face, neck, arms and feet. The burns team have been like family to us.

"They have done such a fantastic job and we can’t believe the transformation.

"Aiofe is now four. She attends pre-school and is just a normal, happy four-year-old.”
