Baby girl saved in dramatic poolside CPR rescue at exclusive Welsh holiday park

A baby girl had to be rescued at the poolside at one of Wales' most exclusive holiday parks, it's been reported.

Lifeguards at The Warren, a luxury resort in Abersoch, Gwynedd, had to act "swiftly" after the girl reportedly got into difficulty in the water.

It's understood a first responder performed CPR on her at the site’s impressive water complex.

The "incident" happened last week at what would have been one of the busiest weeks for the park, right before the August bank holiday and the last week of the school summer holidays.

The exact circumstances aren't known but the girl was later taken to hospital and is now back at home and "expected to make a full recovery".

A spokesman for Haulfryn, park owners of The Warren, said: "Our lifeguard responded immediately and the first responder arrived on the scene within minutes.

"Due to the rapid actions of our team the injured party is now at home, and is expected to make a full recovery. We are very proud of our lifeguards and broader team who acted swiftly and calmly."

The Warren, part of Haulfryn Holidays, is located on the Llyn Peninsula and has a number of beachfront lodges on the sandy seashore which typically sell for £500,000-plus. Coleen and Wayne Rooney holidayed there earlier this year in May and singer-songwriter Jessie Ware has reminisced about holidaying at The Warren as a child.

The park's popularity has seemingly been boosted by the trend to holiday in the UK after the pandemic, with a reported two-year waiting list and a 339% increase in searches for Haulfryn's parks between December 2020 and April 2021.
