Baby girl dies suddenly in Glasgow as police launch probe into tragic death

A baby girl has died suddenly in Glasgow.

Emergency services raced to Balmartin Road in the Summerston area after the alarm was raised at around 9am on Saturday, September 3. Ambulance crews attended but the 6-month-old baby girl was pronounced dead at the scene.

Pictures circulating on social media show four police vehicles and two ambulances in attendance. Officers say their enquiries are ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers were called following the sudden death of a 6- month-old baby girl in the Balmartin Road area of Summerston, Glasgow around 9am on Saturday, 3 September, 2022.

"Enquiries are ongoing.”
