Baby girl born with 'pig snout' nose, no jaw and ears on her neck

Heartbreaking footage has been released that shows a baby girl with unique facial abnormalities including a nose that resembles a pig's snout.

The tot, who was born in a private clinic in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijani, also has her ears on her neck and a mouth so small it's barely visible.

However, despite her abnormalities, medics say her organs are normal and functioning well and overall she is a healthy baby, the Daily Star reports.

Questions are being asked as to why the abnormalities were not spotted during a scan.

Sevyndzh Mamedova, Azerbaijan's head of obstetrics and gynaecology, said the mum should have been informed about the child’s development during an ultrasound scan in the third month of pregnancy.

This would have given the mum the option to terminate the pregnancy.

She said: “As the child was born at a private clinic, we can’t check the baby without the mother’s permission.

"Neither I nor the chief neonatologist or the chief paediatrician were invited to check on the child.

“Failing to recognise such a deformity is a crime. The family can report their gynaecologist and an ultrasound specialist.”

A lump underneath the baby's nostrils could be a chin but this has not been confirmed by medics.

The baby also seems to be born without a jaw which could explain why her ears are on her neck.
