Baby girl 'abducted' from home by dad who has her name tattooed on his head

Police have launched a desperate search for a toddler and her young father in a suspected parental abduction amid "extreme concerns" for her welfare.

Aria Jane Killiby, aged 22 months, was reported missing on Monday morning when police went to the home to execute a Child Recovery Order.

The order was issued due to concerns for the toddler's well-being.

By the time officers arrived at the home in Grafton in New South Wales, Australia, both Aria and her 24-year-old father, Leroy Killiby, were gone.

Police issued an Amber Alert on Wednesday, saying they believe the girl is travelling with her father, who has her name tattooed on the right side of his head.

Police believe they may have travelled to the neighbouring state of Queensland.

Killiby is known to frequent Tweed Heads, a town in New South Wales, and Queensland.

Police have urged people to report any sightings of the father and daughter, or the red Jeep Cherokee they may be travelling in.

A spokesperson for New South Wales Police called the case an "abduction".

There are "extreme concerns" for Aria's welfare, the spokesperson added.
