Baby flung out of window in Sydney crash

NSW Police have charged a 48-year-old woman over a crash in which a baby was ejected from a car. (AAP)

A two-month-old baby who was allegedly unrestrained was flung out through a back seat car window in a crash involving a suspended driver in Sydney's east.

The unregistered Toyota Tarago was travelling southbound near Stephen Rd in Botany on Friday evening when it missed a bend near the intersection of Swinbourne St, police say.

The car then struck the gutter and mounted the kerb before hitting a steel fence, causing the baby to be ejected out the window.

The infant was uninjured and taken to hospital, while three other passengers including a 19-year-old woman were also unharmed.

The 48-year-old female driver, who allegedly had a suspended licence at the time of the crash, was taken to hospital for treatment of a minor wrist injury and mandatory testing.

She has been charged with a raft of offences including negligent driving and driving with an unrestrained child under six months.

The woman has been granted conditional bail and is due to appear in court on March 3, while police have completed a child at risk notification.
