A baby who was delivered after her mother was fatally hit by a semi truck last week in River North has died.

Hannah Elizabeth Boshardy was delivered Sept. 17 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital after her mother, 29-year-old Elizabeth Boshardy, was struck by a truck near Grand Avenue and Lasalle Drive. She was pronounced dead at Northwesteren.

The child died about 9 a.m. Saturday, four days after she was born, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

A GoFundMe page set up by Elizabeth Boshardy’s husband, Michael, had raised nearly $90,000 for Hannah Elizabeth Boshardy’s care. The couple lived in the West Town area, the medical examiner’s office said.

“Liz clung to life in that intersection long enough so that when paramedics found her, her daughter still had a heartbeat and a fighting chance,” the GoFundMe page reads.

A statement on the page noted that if the child no longer required critical care, the balance of donations would be given to the American Civil Liberties Union, in her mother’s honor.

Autopsy results for the child are pending.
