A three-week-old baby boy is fighting for his life after being viciously attacked by a dog in the Scottish Borders.
Emergency services were called to an address in Hawick at 16.45 after reports of a dog mauling a child.
The baby was rushed to hospital for treatment and he remains in a critical condition.

Officers said enquiries are ongoing.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "The emergency services were called to an address in Hawick following the report of a baby having been attacked by a dog.
"A baby boy has been taken to hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
"Officers remain in attendance and inquiries are ongoing."
