A baby has died after falling into a water bucket while his mum took a quick break from mopping the floor to answer the front door, according to reports.
Joao Miguel is said to have toppled headfirst into the bucket when his mum, who was cleaning the house, went to talk to her nephew at the front gate on November 25.
The tragedy occurred one month before Joao's first birthday at their home in the city of Cariacica, Brazil, reports Yahoo News.
The baby's aunt told the news portal G1: "She was tidying the house, mopping up. And the boy was in the pantry, on the floor, near the table.
"When she went in, she didn't see the boy. When she went to the kitchen, she saw the boy in the bucket of water."

The mum and her sister spent almost an hour trying to revive the tot and called emergency services.
Operators told them what to do over the phone but it was not possible to save the baby.
"She started to shout and I heard her cries asking me for help, saying he wasn't breathing," the aunt said.
"It was hopeless. She's in despair. She was sick, she took medication, and we took her to the doctor's again."
Following his death, Joao's body was taken to the coroner's office in the nearby city of Vitoria.
An investigation is underway but it is not clear at what stage police are at and whether action will be taken against the mother.
