'Baby Blocker' Chrome extension will hide baby photos from your Facebook feed

With the birth of the royal baby this week, you may find your Facebook feed full of baby photos.

If this baby-frenzy is getting too much for you, help is at hand - in the form of SKYN’s new Google Chrome extension.

The condom brand has launched a free Google Chrome extension dubbed the ‘Baby Blocker’, which once installed, will block baby photos from your Facebook feed, replacing them with 'better images'.

Jeyan Heper, CEO of LifeStyles, the company behind SKYN, said: “Everyone shares in the joy of the arrival of a famous baby and relish seeing the images released across social channels.

“Numerous baby photos are being shared every hour on Facebook and this is bound to increase over the coming weeks.

Facebook automatically detects the composition of images on its platform and produces descriptions, such as ‘tree’, ‘three people’ or ‘baby’.

The Baby Blocker Chrome Extension searches these descriptions, as well as other post content, to determine if the post contains babies.

If a baby is detected, the HTML of the Facebook page is altered to block the post with a different image.

The Baby Blocker is available now via the Google Play store and is free to download.
