Baby airlifted to hospital after taking unwell at house in Aberdeenshire

A baby was airlifted to hospital after taking unwell at a house in Aberdeenshire.

Emergency services raced to Strachan Way in Peterhead on Tuesday.

The alarm was raised at around 11.40am after reports of a tot becoming unwell.

Scottish Ambulance Service (SAS) sent two ambulances, a trauma team and an air ambulance to the scene.

The tot was soon airlifted to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

Later that day the baby was transferred to Glasgow's Royal Hospital for Children.

Police told the Record that are enquiries are ongoing as officers work to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

The baby's current medical condition is yet to be confirmed.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman: "Emergency services were called to Strachan Way, Peterhead, around 11.40am on Tuesday March 23 following a report of a baby having become unwell.

"The baby was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary and later transferred to the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow.

"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.”

SAS on Monday confirmed their attendance at the scene.

They did not confirm the baby's current condition.

An SAS spokeswoman told the Record: "We received a call at 11:24am on Tuesday March 23 and dispatched two ambulances, a trauma team and an air ambulance to the scene.

"The patient was transferred by air ambulance to Royal Aberdeen Children's Hospital."
