Fans surprised as B*Witched singer appears in hit Netflix drama

Fans of new Netflix drama Stay Close were shocked to spot a familiar Irish singer in the hit show.

Lindsay Armaou from B*Witched stars in the new series as character Marlene Flynn.

She performs alongside acting veteran James Nesbitt and The Stranger’s Richard Armitage in the northern England-based show.

The 43-year-old shot to fame back in the 90's alongside Edele and Keavy Lynch and Sinéad O'Carroll when they released iconic songs like C'est La Vie and Blame It On The Weatherman.

But the former singer, who grew up in Dublin, looks very different to how she did during her B*Witched era with fans tweeting about how she has changed.

One stunned viewer asked: "Did anyone cop that Carlton's stepmum in #StayClose is Lindsay from B*Witched?"

Someone said: “Lindsay Armaou is in a Netflix show, she looks unrecognisable.”

A fan said: “I’m ten minutes into #StayClose on Netflix… is that Lindsay from B*Witched?!" while another added: “As if Lindsay from B*Witched is in Stay Close.”

The synopsis for the popular show reads: “The lives of a photojournalist, a soccer mom and homicide detective are disturbed by a terrible event from the past.”

Richard Armitage recently told Lorraine Kelly about his castmates.

He said: “We’re really happy that Stay Close is number one in 40 countries.

“Brilliant cast and it was so nice to reconnect with Jimmy Nesbit after The Hobbit and Joe Joyner, after I think 17 years ago from North and South.

“Eddie Izzard was a dream. We are so lucky. I wanted to work with Sarah Parish forever, we couldn’t stop talking."
