'B******s to Brexit' car slogan removed by police

Britain's busiest motorway has become the latest Brexit battleground thanks to an intervention by police.

The Mirror reports a yellow Mini emblazoned with 'B******s to Brexit' was forced on to the hard shoulder of the M25 by local police.

Officers then insisted on the removal of the slogan before allowing the vehicle to resume its journey.

Peter Cook, who was a passenger in the car, described the officer as "extremely aggressive" during the 40-minute ordeal which took place in the Brentwood area.

He further accused the policeman, whose identity is currently unknown, of "bullying" the car's driver and passengers into removing part of the slogan.

"The policeman said it was a public order offence, and insisted we remove the signage on the hard shoulder of the M25," Mr Cook said.

Mr Cook said the policeman was "bang out of order" before being heavily critical of his "atrocious behaviour" which he intends to report to the Police Complaints Commission.

Essex Police's spokesman encouraged the driver of the Mini to make contact with them, before confirming it is using video footage to identify the officer involved and establish the circumstances around what happened."

More than 40 years ago, legal precedent ruled that the word 'b******s' is not an obscenity and is therefore appropriate for use in the public domain.

This decision was made by Nottingham Magistrates Court in 1977 after a local record shop manager was arrested for displaying the Sex Pistols' debut album Never Mind The B******s, Here's The Sex Pistols.
