B/R thinks Vikings should make an attempt to meet Dalvin Cook’s contract demands

Running back Dalvin Cook has refrained from team-related activities until he receives a revised deal, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

That news put a Cook contract extension on the mind of fans and experts alike. Should the Vikings extend Cook and keep a crucial part of their offense, or move on and avoid the risk of extending a running back who has dealt with injuries in the past?

Maurice Moton of Bleacher Report thinks that Minnesota should try and keep Cook around. Here’s what he said about the running back:

“Although $13 million seems steep for a player with one standout season, the Vikings offense would take a significant step back without Cook. With $12.3 million in cap space, Minnesota should make an attempt to meet its top running back’s contract demands.”

Personally, I don’t think $13 million is too much for a player of Cook’s caliber, especially one that was part of the run-heaviest offense in 2019.
