Vikings running back Dalvin Cook is coming off a career 2019, and Alexander Mattison showed promise at that position in his first year with Minnesota.
But that wasn’t good enough for Bleacher Report to rank the two in the top 10 among running back duos. The outlet put Cook and Mattison at No. 17 overall.
Here’s how the outlet ranked the running back duos:
“How do we do this? A composite grade—a combination of my own evaluating, Pro Football Focus grades, the analytics of Football Outsiders, and opinions from pro and college scouts around the NFL—is used to rank each player.”
Bleacher Report mentioned that “for rookies, their grade is based on predraft scouting evaluations plus their fit with their new team.” I think that might be why the Vikings duo got snubbed from the top of the list.
The Chiefs were No. 10 with Clyde Edwards-Helaire and Damien Williams. Damien Williams is probably a better second running back than Mattison. When it comes to Edwards-Helaire, though, I’d rather have a proven NFL running back who is still young, like Cook.
