A B&Q was forced to close for deep cleaning this morning after a member of staff tested positive for Covid-19.
The DIY supplier, on Bridgehall Industrial Park, Bury, was shut to the public throughout the morning as a 'precautionary measure', the company says.
Visitors were turned away from the building by members of staff who told them the warehouse was closed due to an incident related to coronavirus.
But, the store was reopened this afternoon after cleaning was finished.
A spokesman for B&Q said: "We can confirm that our Bury store was temporarily closed today following a team member receiving a positive (Covid 19) test result.
"Closing the store for deep cleaning is a precautionary measure and goes beyond government advice.
"The store has since reopened.”
There has only been one confirmed case of the virus among staff at the store.
B&Q is allowed to remain open during the national coronavirus lockdown because it sells items deemed essential to the public.
The government has ruled that any shops which sell essential items can remain open, even if they also sell non-essential goods.
