B&Q store closes for 'deep clean' after staff member tests positive for coronavirus

A B&Q store in Tameside temporarily closed after a staff member tested positive for coronavirus.

The DIY shop on Snipe retail park in Ashton-under-Lyne shut its doors yesterday so a 'deep clean' could be carried out.

A spokesperson for the company described the closure as a 'precautionary measure' which went 'beyond government advice'.

It reopened on Monday morning.

A B&Q spokesperson said: "We can confirm that our Ashton-under-Lyne store temporarily closed yesterday following a team member receiving a positive Covid-19 test result.

"Closing the store for deep cleaning is a precautionary measure and goes beyond government advice."
