B&Q's urgent recall for product that causes fire and electric shocks

B&Q has issued an urgent product recall for two heaters than can cause fire and electric shocks.

The DIY retailer sent out the important recall this week and urged anyone who had brought the heaters to stop using them immediately and to return them to store.

B&Q already issued a recall for one of the heaters on February 10, 2021.

But after further investigation a further recall has been put out for a second heater.

The products affected are:

GoodHome Colenso 2000W White Oscillating Fan Heater. Barcode: 5059340046938 (on sale between September 2020 and January 2021)
GoodHome Colenso 2000W White Freestanding Fan Heater, barcode: 5059340046921

B&Q said in a statement: "In addition to recalling GoodHome Colenso 2000W White Freestanding Fan Heater, barcode: 5059340046921 on 10/02/21, B&Q has identified a potential risk of electric shock and fire when using both these products.

"In some cases, the product may overheat causing damage to the case.

"If you have bought either model of fan heater, please immediately stop using it and return to store when possible for a full refund."
