B&Q reopen Glasgow store today as certain stores lift country-wide closures

B&Q has reopened one of its Glasgow stores today amid the coronavirus lockdown.

The DIY giant has reopened 14 of its stores across the country - including its unit on Great Western Road.

B&Q's Paisley store opened its doors once again on Friday, with customers queuing up to get inside.

The company has been in total lockdown across the country until last week, when it reopened 14 of its warehouses south of the border.

It allowed some stores to trade with strict hygiene and social distancing measures in place to protect both customers and staff.

A statement from the company reads: "Having watched other essential retailers support social distancing in their stores, we are now in a position to follow best practice and re-open some stores, while keeping our colleagues safe.

"Only products that you can shop and takeaway in store on the day are available. However, services such as kitchen and bathroom design, paint mixing, timber cutting and key cutting are not available for the time being. Currently, we are only accepting card and contact-less payments."

The Great Western Road branch will now be open from Monday to Saturday 8am to 5pm and Sunday 10am to 4pm.
