B&Q recall dishwashers over fears that they could burst into flames

B&Q have issued an urgent recall of a dishwasher after it was discovered that it could burst into flames.

The DIY giant has asked customers to unplug and not use its Cooke and Lewis Freestanding Slimline White Dishwasher after the safety concern was found.

Customers who purchased the product between 2012 and 2017 have been urged to stop using the dishwasher immediately.

A spokesperson for B&Q said: “B&Q has identified a safety concern with the below dishwasher where components may overheat and result in fire. We are advising customers to unplug and not use the appliance.

“We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.”

The Cooke and Lewis product affected contains the barcode of 5052931055623.

Customers have been advised to contact a helpline on 0333 014 3476 once they have unplugged it from the power socket.
