B&Q Longwell Green closed after staff test positive for coronavirus

Longwell Green's B&Q was closed today (Monday) after two members of staff tested positive for coronavirus.

Bosses of the DIY store say the South Gloucestershire branch was shut to allow for a professional deep-clean to take place.

A sign outside of the building says the store will re-open on Tuesday (August 25).

A B&Q spokesperson said: "We can confirm that our Longwell Green store is temporarily closed following two team members, who have recently been on shift, receiving a positive (Covid 19) test result.

"Closing the store for deep cleaning is a precautionary measure and goes beyond government advice."

The news comes on the same day that six more people tested positive for the deadly disease in South Gloucestershire, bringing the district's total to 807.

What is the government advice?

If someone with coronavirus comes to work, the workplace does not necessarily have to close, but employers should follow cleaning advice.
