B&Q issues urgent product recall over electric shock and fire dangers

Hardware retailer B&Q has urgently recalled one of its products over fears it could cause electric shocks or catch on fire.

The GoodHome Colenso 2000W White Freestanding Fan Heater has been recalled due to a 'potential risk of electric shock and fire.'

The product recall reads: "B&Q has identified a potential risk of electric shock and fire when using this product.

"In some cases, the product may overheat causing damage to the case."

The following products are affected:

  • GoodHome Colenso 2000W White Freestanding Fan Heater
  • Barcode: 5059340046921
  • on sale between September 2020 and January 2021

B&Q advises shoppers: "If you have bought this model of fan heater since September 2020, please immediately stop using it and return to store when possible for a full refund."
