B&Q issue recall for product that 'could cause fires'

B&Q have issued an urgent product recall for a heater than they say can cause fire and electric shocks.

The DIY giant said the heater affected is the GoodHome Colenso 2000W White Freestanding Fan Heater.

The heater has a barcode of 5059340046921 and was on sale between September 2020 and January 2021.

The product can overheat which can cause damage to the case and potentially cause a fire or an electric shock.

B&Q have told customers to stop using the heater immediately and to return it to store where a full refund will be given.

B&Q said: "B&Q has identified a potential risk of electric shock and fire when using this product.

"In some cases, the product may overheat causing damage to the case.

"If you have bought this model of fan heater since September 2020, please immediately stop using it and return to store when possible for a full refund.
