Even the perfect new property is likely to need a few tweaks and some time and money spent on it to make it home.
But after spending a fortune on a house one couple were very grateful to be able to renovate the flooring in their home at a discounted price.
They say that they saved £443.25 on replacing the flooring in their new home that they said was 'awful'.
The GoodHome Gospel Grey Wood effect Luxury vinyl click flooring from DIY store B&Q was on sale in a store for £6 and £4 and they were able to spend only £48.97 in total.
The normal retail price would have been £52.65 for a pack and the couple bought nine.
The homeowners have shared their bargain buy with members of a money-saving Facebook group and said: "Best bargain by far. B&Q Reading.

"We’ve just moved house and the flooring was awful this has really helped us out for our hallway and dinning room."
"Wow what a bargain good luck in your new home," said one comment.
Another said: "Now that is a bargain, well done."
"I got my flooring in my bedroom for £3 a pack from B&Q," said another shopper who also managed to make savings.
Other shoppers were keen to take advantage of the bargain flooring but it seems that each store has different bargains with the original poster saying: "it could be any they reduce - it’s just pot luck.
"It’s never the same ones."
