A Liverpool B&M branch was evacuated after the side of the store caught fire this afternoon.
The bargain retailer, on Utting Avenue near Queens Drive, was set alight after a fire from wooden pallets at the side of the B&M store spread to the building.
Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service confirmed they were called to the incident, in Norris Green, today at around 4pm.
Three fire engines attended and firefighters used a high pressure hose reel jet and a main branch to tackle the fire.
Firefighters evacuated the store and checked inside B&M. No one was injured during the incident.
After putting out the fire, crews ventilated the area and damped down the "large quantity" of wooden pallets.
A spokesperson for Merseyside Fire service told the ECHO : "On arrival, crews found a large quantity of wooden pallets at the side of the B&M store, on fire, which had spread to the side of the store.
"Firefighters used a high pressure hose reel jet and a main branch to tackle the fire, and checked the store’s interior, which was evacuated. After extinguishing the fire, crews ventilated the area and damped down the pallets."
