B&M shopper spots Yankee Candles down to just £1 thanks to brilliant 'secret sale' app

Retail giant B&M Bargains has launched a flash sale on Yankee Candles - and customers are picking them up for just £1.

Fans have taken to social media to reveal their Christmas bargains - including seasonal scents for the rock bottom price.

The popular candle brand, which usually sells for upwards of £15, was spotted by a savvy shopper at a B&M store in Essex.

The woman took to Facebook group B&M Stores Bargains and More, after revealing she'd picked up two scents - Passion Fruit Martini and Warm Cashmere - for £1 each.

The candles were previously priced at £15, marking a huge saving for the customer.

The woman confessed she was able to find the discount thanks to B&M's scanner app.

The B&M app allows customers to snap up substantial discounts on products that are not labelled as 'on sale'.

To use it, customers must download the app on their smartphone and scan the item in store.

One woman complained that she was unable to find bargains in her local B&M, and the original poster replied: "Neither do I normally.

"My boyfriend said check I was like, they will be like £15 like all the others.

"Only scanned to prove myself right but was I wrong.

One person said: "Lucky you."

Another added: "Warm Cashmere is unreal and so hard to get hold of. Well done you."

Somebody else commented: "I'm so jealous of Passion Fruit Martini is my favourite and none in my store."

The candle is not the only discount shoppers have spotted using the clever B&M app.

Shopper Louise, 29, moved into her first home this year and managed to decorate the entire place for just £5.

After being handed her first paycheck, she moved into a new property - which she was desperate to make her own.

"I decided to go shopping that day because I'd just got my first home after being homeless for four years and it was my first pay check from work so I needed bedroom furniture for my room," she previously told The Mirror.

The young carer from the Wirral, managed to pick up a huge homeware haul from B&M Bargains for £150 less than the asking price.

Louise bought everything from a chest of drawers and bedside tables to a mirror and cushions, and every single item had a huge reduction.

She said the secret is all in the B&M app - which has a clever barcode scanner that tells you about discounts even before staff have changed the labels in store.

Louise only discovered the tool after being told to download the app by a fellow shopper while browsing the store's aisles.

"I didn't know anything about the app until a lady in the shop told me about it," Louise explained.

"In total, I saved over £150. I am not a big bargain hunter but I was absolutely made up when I found out how much I’d saved," she said.
