B&M shopper shares 'genius' £16 hack that will keep you cool while you sleep

The UK is set to reach scorching temperatures later this week, as some of us are bracing for a near 30C heat blast.

In anticipation for a serious scorcher, Brits are seeking cheap and effective methods to stay cool as temperatures creep up.

A restless night's sleep is one of the most gruelling parts of warmer weather, but thankfully one man has shared his "genius" £15 hack to stay cool.

Mark Ian Hoyle - who posts under @ladbabyofficial - took to TikTok to recommend a rather unusual heatwave hack, using a product from B&M.

When the bloke revealed his top tip last summer, the popular bargain retailer even shared the clip to their own account. His top heatwave secret? A cooling mat usually reserved for pets.

"I'll be back with an epic HACK! Absolute genius I'm telling ya mate," the clip was captioned.

The video soon cut to Mark, who was spotted holding the iconic orange and blue carrier bag.

Ahead of revealing the product, he made sure that the essential item had the grand reveal that it needed.

He opened the door to a bedroom and said: "Welcome to the chill max 3000."

The blue patterned cooling mats were placed on top of the bed sheets - but underneath the covers - ready to be slept on.

"You put them in the bed like this," he demonstrated as he pulled back the covers.

"You get in like this..."

The TikTok star looked content and prepped for his cool night of sleep with his new unique purchase. His partner even joked that the product looks like a "pool float".

After clarifying that the product was indeed meant for dogs - it was no laughing matter when she tried the game-changing product.

The social star joked: "If it's good enough for dogs, it's good enough for me and you babe!"

"No, this is genius!" The partner gushed as she tried the product.

Anyone looking to try the innovative hack is in luck, as B&M is selling the cooling mats again this year. The pet cooling crate mat will set you back £16.

Since sharing the video on TikTok, the clip has raked in over 2,000 comments to date - where people rushed to praise the effective idea.

One person wrote: "That's actually genius."

Meanwhile, someone else claimed they've been trialling the hack for a while, as they penned: "I've done it for yrs and it's the best thing ever."

Someone else agreed: "Had them for a couple of years now. you can also get ones for the pillow as well."
