B&M shop to close for good ahead of new discount superstore opening

Kilmarnock's existing B&M store will close for good at this weekend, shop bosses have confirmed today.

The discount retailer is in the process of opening a much bigger mega store in the town, which will open a week later.

B&M at Queen's Drive Retail Park will close for the final time this Saturday. The new superstore at Glencairn Retail Park will swing open its doors at 9am on Saturday, February 4

We previously told you that the retailer will move into a giant custom store that used to house Poundstretcher, DW Sports and Brantano.

The boss at the new store has said the retailer wanted a "bigger and better" store for customers.

The store manager at B&M Glencairn, said: “We wanted a bigger and better store for our customers, giving them even more big, branded products.

“We hope customers are going to be delighted with their new store, we’re really excited to get the doors open very soon.”

Store chiefs say they had regular feedback from shoppers that they wanted a bigger shop and even more products.

The Glencairn store will have 24,461sq. ft. of sales space, offering a selection of bargains from grocery, toiletries and health and beauty to toys, homeware and DIY.

The store will also boast its own 9,505sqft garden centre selling hundreds of plant varieties and gardening products.
