B&M's kind gesture to Alder Hey during coronavirus crisis

Budget retailer B&M has provided care packages for NHS staff in Liverpool working on the frontline during the coronavirus crisis.

The retailer has confirmed it sent parcels to Alder Hey to “help make life a little bit easier in a troubling time”.

They contained tea, coffee, hand moisturisers and more.

Alder Hey Children’s Charity shared the kind gesture on Twitter, and wrote: “A huge thanks to all at @bmstores for supporting @alderhey at this difficult time by providing a HUGE range of products from hand moisturiser to tea & coffee for our frontline #NHS staff care packages.

“We have given out hundreds already & we are making more! Thank you so much!”.

B&M shared the post on Facebook, saying the retailer is “proud to be able to help Alder Hey during the Covid19 pandemic” and that it hopes the products will “help make life a little bit easier in a troubling time.”

Fans of the retailer congratulated B&M on Facebook, with one person saying: “They are a fantastic hospital, saved my big boy's life, glad you can make things a bit easier for them!!”

Another added: “I think it's brilliant that you are donating tea and coffee. Well done b&m. It's such a little thing but means so much”.

A third said: “Fabulous well done B&M”.

B&M also offers NHS workers priority queuing between 8.30am - 9.30am Monday to Saturday, and for the first hour of trade on Sundays.

NHS staff can also get 10% off at B&M stores.
