It can't have escaped shoppers' notice that Easter Eggs are already on widespread sale around the North East and, matter how much they might try to avoid the commercial drive to get us spending weeks in advance of the big occasion, it can be hard to avoid the temptation of chocolate at every turn.
For those with a sweet tooth that lure is set to become a whole lot stronger with news that bargain store B&M is now selling a giant luxury Baileys Strawberries and Cream Chocolate Easter egg for a reduced price.
The new egg to hit the shelves - and likely to win the hearts of both chocolate lovers and the many fans of the Irish cream liqueur which flavours it - is on sale at B&M for £8.99, which the store says is £10 less than some other outlets.
A spokesman said that it is "selling the egg for one of the cheapest prices on the market", comparing its cost of £18.99 at online stores Littlewoods and £14.99 at Very.
The eye-catching new egg is made from white chocolate and flavoured with both Baileys and the taste of dried strawberry.
It also comes with heart-shape truffles.
It is on sale at selected B&M stores around the country from now and in the run-up to Easter Sunday, which is on April 12, while stocks last.
