B&M are selling an iced coffee maker but not all shoppers are impressed

Like most of the country, Scotland has been experiencing a heatwave.

The sudden change in temperatures has led many caffeine addicts to turn to iced beverages as an alternative way to cool down and still get their coffee fix.

Since more people are working from home, popping by the usual cafe is no longer part of the morning routine and B&M are selling an iced coffee maker for their customers so they can 'enjoy refreshing iced coffee at home or on the go, just the way you like it'.

Posting the Breville Iced Coffee Maker to social media, the Facebook Group, Newsfood UK, alerted their followers on the product on sale.

They said: "Have you spotted this Iced Coffeemaker yet!? It’s now reduced to £35 at B&M Stores. "

The post quickly gathered attention with nearly 1000 shares, 6.2k comments and 1k likes.

One coffee fan praised the gadget: "Just got one it is mint"

Another added: "I need this so bad."

"I need this, would save me a fortune." A third said, tagging a friend.

However more people were skeptical of the coffee maker, arguing that it was "unnecessary."

"You can literally make one without any machines. stop wasting ur money" One piped up.

Another interjected: "You just add ice to coffee I don’t understand what this does"

"I don't understand what this machine will do differently to adding cold water to instant coffee with milk and ice?" A third questioned.

So what does the Breville Iced Coffee Maker actually do?

According to the product description on B&M's website, it states: "Make refreshing iced coffee at home—just add water and coffee grounds to the machine, ice to the tumbler, and brew; customise with your favourite flavourings and milks, for a perfect, flavourful iced coffee just how you like it"

It also comes with markings on the tumblr to help get the ratio correct and a measuring scoop.

But over the summer, many have been showing off their iced coffee making skills on TikTok without any special machine.

The hashtag 'icedcoffee' alone has 2.3 billion views.

Videos show iced being poured into a glass, coffee, syrup then a drop of milk.

Iced lattes can also be made by pouring milk over ice, dissolve your instant coffee with a dash of hot water and pour over the milk and ice, stir and enjoy.
