A pair of B-52 bombers flew over the Middle East on Sunday, the latest such mission in the region.

The US military’s Central Command said the two B-52s flew over the region accompanied by military aircraft from nations including Israel, Saudi Arabia and Qatar.

It marked the fourth-such bomber deployment into the Middle East this year and the second under President Joe Biden.

The military said the flight was to “deter aggression and reassure partners and allies of the US military’s commitment to security in the region.”

Stratofortress is a long-range, heavy bomber that can perform a variety of missions.

It is capable of carrying up to 70,000 pounds (32,000 kg) of weapons, and has a typical combat range of more than 8,800 miles (14,080 km)
