Aztecs Best Aggies 68-63 Snapping 7-Game Win Streak
Despite an all-out stellar 35-point performance by Aggies star Sam Merrill the Aztecs continue to shut Utah State down.

The Utah State Aggies are now 0-11 against the Aztecs since joining the Mountain West in ’13-14.
San Diego– The Aztecs (14-9, 6-4) overcame a 35-point effort from Sam Merrill of Utah State(18-6, 8-3) at Viejas Arena to extend a 11-0 record against the Aggies since they joined the conference.
Devin Watson scored 23 points and Jalen McDaniels sank 16 for San Diego State. Merrill finished two shy of his career-high before fouling out for the Aggies who entered the game squarely in second place.
True freshman Nathan Mensah managed a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Matt Mitchell also put up 10 points for SDSU.
Merrill hit a 3-pointer with 2:10 left to close to 63-58 but then had another shot blocked by Mensah. Merrill then fouled out with 49 seconds to go.
Jalen McDaniels fell three rebounds shy of a double-double. He has now gone three games without a double-double after recording six straight.
Utah State hosts Wyoming Wednesday night, and San Diego State heads to Colorado State Tuesday night.
