Azerai La Residence, Hue

This luxury boutique hotel was the residence of the French governor during colonial times. Newly renovated, the estate is now an elegant hotel with 122 rooms, most of which offer balconies with either river or garden views. Reportedly, the late King Bhumibol stayed in the main suite on the top floor of the mansion during his state visit to Vietnam in 1959.
