Azaylia Cain's mum leaves 'comfort zone' to collect toys for child cancer patients

Safiyya Vorajee has been shopping for less fortunate families this Christmas.

The mother of the late Azaylia Diamond Cain admitted she found the task "extremely challenging" and difficult, as she continues to grieve the loss of eight-month-old daughter.

Azaylia, the first child for both Safiyya and Ashley Cain, tragically passed away in April, after battling an aggressive form of leukaemia.

Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, Safiyya, 34, explained to her 1.1 million followers how shopping for "children fighting fearlessly against childhood cancer" took her out of her comfort zone.

Captioning a collection of shots of herself alongside a huge heap of toys, the aesthetic practitioner painfully confessed she wished she could be shopping for her late daughter too this festive period.

"Last night was extremely tough but so rewarding," she told her fans on Instagram.

"Riding the waves of anxiety which were bringing me to tears in my car and in store was something I found extremely challenging. What some people may find an easy task was in fact a really difficult one for me.

She continued: "Watching children & parents get excited for Christmas bought lumps to my throat and tears in my eyes."

"I should be doing this for Azaylia this year."

The grieving mother then went on to admit that amongst all the toys and presents, she wishes she could give the gift of good health to children suffering with cancer.

"Whilst coming out of my comfort zone I took a moment to remember what I was there for," Safiyya continued on Wednesday.

"The brave children fighting fearlessly against childhood cancer, bringing smiles and a magical touch to them. Although all I wanted was a magic wand to give them the best present they could ask for HEALTH, the greatest gift anyone could have."

She added: "After hours of shopping it was all done the warmth in my heart filled up knowing I did it for the children."

Following Azaylia's tragic death earlier this year, former Ex on the Beach star Ashley and Safiyya created The Azaylia Foundation in August - an organisation they hope will help other parents going experiencing a similar situation to what they went through.

Concluding her emotional post on Wednesday, Safiyya paid tribute to her late daughter and urged her fans to look after each other over the Christmas period.

"Azaylia you are my inspiration my hero and I hope your proud this is all because of you my [love heart emoji]," the star penned.

"Massive Thankyou to all the staff from smyths & curry’s that went above and beyond to help.

"And my rock my brother @danny he is incredible he helps me through so much and is the best brother I could of ever wished for

She signed off writing: "Remember to check in on people you no this Christmas."
