Azaylia Cain's heartbroken parents mark two months since their baby girl's death

Ashley Cain and his girlfriend Safiyya Vorajee have shared touching tributes to their baby daughter Azaylia to mark two months since she died after a battle with leukaemia.

The couple were left heartbroken when their little girl, who was born in August last year, was unable to fight her illness any longer, despite all the efforts made to prolong her life.

Mum Safiyya posted on Instagram : "Two months ago you took your angel wings. I miss you so much princess. Always and forever so closely to my heart baby. Mummy loves you always."

She shared the caption on an adorable picture of Azaylia smiling in her hospital crib, surrounded by keepsakes and soothing lights.

Ashley also shared a post to mark the tragic milestone, sharing a picture of his daughter and writing: "Two months ago today you gained your angel wings.

"Two months ago today was the most devastating day of my life. Two months ago today my entire world collapsed.

"Life will never be the same without you Azaylia. But I promise we will keep your legacy alive and make you proud.

"You and what you did on this earth is incredible. You are special baby and you will live on in our hearts and our heads forever."

The public rallied round the couple after their daughter's diagnosis and raised £1.5 million to fly Azaylia to Singapore for specialist treatment.

However, before they could make the trip, a CT scan showed there were further complications.

Days before Azaylia died, her parents took her home from the hospital so she could be surrounded by her family.

Azaylia was diagnosed with a rare form of leukaemia two months after her birth and was treated at Birmingham Children's Hospital.

The tragic passing of the couple's eight-month-old daughter on April 25, touched the hearts of the nation in recent months and followers have sent prayers and condolences.

The grieving parents now plan to launch a charity in Azaylia's memory to raise funds to help treat other children suffering from cancer.
