AZ Alkmaar vs Manchester United
Europa League 2019/20 season
Venue: Cars Jeans Stadion
Kick-off time: 8pm BST, tonight
Manchester United hope to make it two wins from two in the Europa League when they take on AZ Alkmaar tonight.
Mason Greenwood’s late strike spared United blushes at home to Astana in the opening round of group fixtures a fortnight ago but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side face a sterner test on the road.
The Norwegian faces a number of selection dilemmas with injuries mounting – with concerns over the playing surface at the Cars Jeans Stadion also frustrating the United boss ahead of kick-off.
Solskjaer must find a way to navigate past those problems and address an alarming run of form away from home – with United winless on the road since that night in Paris in March.
Team news and starting lineups
Man Utd XI: De Gea; Dalot, Lindelof, Marcos Rojo, Williams; Fred, Matic; Mata, Gomes, James; Greenwood
Subs: Romero, Maguire, Tuanzebe, McTominay, Lingard, Chong, Rashford
AZ Alkmaar XI: Bizot; Sugawara, Vlaar, Wuytens, Wijndal; Midtsjo, De Wit, Koopmeiners; Stengs, Boadu, Idrissi
Subs: De Boer, Hatzidiakos, Ouwejan, Druijf, Aboukhlal, Clasie, Reijnders
Prediction: AZ Alkmaar 1-1 Man Utd
This arguably United's toughest match in the group campaign and with Solskjaer's options going forward still depleted, it could be another tough evening on the road.
