Train services in North Ayrshire have been cancelled after sea spray caused overhead power lines to trip.
Scotrail say services beteen Kilwinning and Ardrossan Harbour are unable to run following the loss of power at Saltcoats.
Overhead lines are reported to have tripped several times although a train driver reported that sea conditions didn't look too bad, Scotrail said.
Network Rail engineers have arrived on the site to carry out an assessment.
Services from Glasgow Central to Ardrossan Harbour/Largs will be terminated at Kilwinning.
Tickets will be accepted on the following Stagecoach West bus services: : •11: Kilwinning - Irvine - Ardrossan. •X36: Glasgow - Howwood - Glengarnock - Dalry - Irvine - Saltcoats. •585: Greenock - Wemyss Bay - Largs - Fairlie - West Kilbride - Ardrossan - Saltcoats - Irvine.
