Ayrshire supermarket store boss admits stealing food

A manager at a Morrisons supermarket in Ayr was stealing the very groceries he was supposed to be selling to his customers.

David McIntosh knicked a quantity of groceries from Morrisons, in Castlehill Road, Ayr, over a month-long period.

McIntosh, aged 48, of Burnpark Road, Ayr, appeared at Ayr Sheriff Court on Wednesday, February 12.

He admitted stealing a quantity of groceries from the store between July 29 2018 and August 29 2018, both dates inclusive – while employed as manager.

The court was told how McIntosh has one previous criminal conviction to his name.

His defence solicitor added: “There is a considerable background.”

Sentence was deferred until March in order to obtain a criminal justice social work report and McIntosh’s bail conditions were continued.
