Ayrshire supermarket is back in business

The Aldi store on Ayr Road reopened this morning at 8am, following a significant refurbishment and extension.

During these unprecedented times, shoppers can now benefit from a larger retail space size of 1,124 sqm, offering an enhanced, convenient and varied shopping experience, with a large range of award-winning Scottish products at unbeatable prices.

Store bosses say the format has been created to make shopping even easier for customers.

And the store will now have wider aisles and clearer signs to make shopping effortless.

Fresh bread and cakes have been moved to the last aisle, preventing them from getting squashed under customers’ shopping and the store will now offer new, easy to browse freezers.

Store Manager, Graham Johnstone, said: “The team and I are really looking forward to welcoming back some familiar faces, and feeding our local community.

"Hopefully the new bigger store will make shopping easier and more comfortable in these uncertain times.”

To celebrate the store reopening, Aldi Prestwick are donating groceries to The 10:10 Trust, a local foodbank which provides the most vulnerable in the community with access to food supplies.

It is hoped that this donation will help families in the local area who are in need of some extra support in the current climate.

Following its reopening, the store, located on Ayr Road, Prestwick, is open Monday to Saturday 8am – 10pm, Sunday from 9am-8pm.
