A Kilmarnock schoolgirl's festive design has won a national charity Christmas card competition and sold out in two branches in the first week of being on sale.
Abbie Russell took part in homeless charity Shelter's national competition with her schoolmates last year but found out she had won while stuck in lockdown.
The Gargieston Primary pupil came out on top with the best design with her creative use of colours and Christmas message.
Abbie's mum Lynsey-Anne said: "We're all super proud of Abbie and all of the family have bought a pack.
"They were sold out in Ayr and Prestwick so we had to go to Clarkston to find some.
"We found out she won while in lockdown, it couldn't have come at a better time. Abbie was struggling a bit during lockdown and was missing her friends and being at school so it was just the boost she needed.
"She's always been artistic and attends The Little Art School in Dundonald every week."
Aspiring artist Abbie, added: "I was so excited when I found out I won and really surprised.
"I felt really proud of myself and when I grow up I want to work for Disney and be a cartoonist.
"I go to art class every week and it's really fun. I put all of my favourite Christmas things on the card; in the middle is a sparkling silver snowflake, and around the card is things like candy canes, gingerbread men and it says 'home for Christmas".
Deputy head teacher Shona Lawson said: "We opened the competition to children to give them an opportunity to be creative.
"We were just delighted to hear the news they had chosen Abbie's entry. We're all super proud of her."
